Simply put, the Talent Acquisition Specialist for Sharpen will be responsible for the recruitment of solid, talented Sharpenites. In this role we need someone that is motivated, and excited to help recruit both passive and active candidates to join our team. You will work closely with our HR Director, as the HR team is responsible for keeping our culture upbeat and jerk free. 

Additionally, our Talent Acquisition Specialist opening is not for the faint of heart as acquiring people for our company is no easy task. It is a tough job that necessitates hard work, hitting goals, working long hours, networking via social media and attending events, being on the phone...A LOT, being in interviews frequently, and representing our company at all times. You have to work well with others and understand hiring managers' needs then fulfill those needs by the candidates you bring onboard. 

We expect this person to work at our office located at  211 North Pennsylvania Street in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, Additionally, we do expect our group to work full-time hours so anticipate at least a 40-hour work week. Do NOT apply if you are a staffing agency, or are looking for a contract only position.

Here are a few things you will be expected to do:

Understand and embody the culture at Sharpen to find and attract qualified candidates.

Develop recruitment goals and objectives (e.g. the number of sourced candidates, resumes viewed per week) and remain accountable to said goals/objectives.
Search resume databases for the most fit candidates.
Determine position requirements, develop and implement strategic recruiting plans for the various roles within Sharpen through the partnership of leadership.
Draft and proofread job descriptions.

Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
Build networks to find qualified active and passive candidates.
Post openings to job boards and other position appropriate channels.
Review, phone screen, and interview applicants with the appropriate methods to evaluate if they meet the position requirements.
Submit resumes of qualified applicants to the Hiring Manager.
Prepare weekly reports of tasks completed or in progress.
Adhere to all internal policies and legal standards.


Minimum of 3 years’ experience in recruiting.

A proven track recording of working on full recruitment cycles.
In-depth knowledge of different kinds of interviews and selection processes.
Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and candidate databases.
Ability to learn about the position requirements for different departments and industries.
Ability to scan large volumes of resumes.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Mac proficiency a plus
Bachelor's degree preferred
